The resin, also called pitch, has many first-aid uses; as an antimicrobial dressing on wounds and to pull out splinters,glass, or the toxins from poisonous insect bites. Pine pitch oil is helpful to lessen muscle aches, joint inflammation, swellings on the skin as well as psoriasis and eczema. It has a sweet soothing scent similiar to honey and amber resin. This is not an essential oil nor will it have the scent of pine needles.
